The air was damp and cold. So cold that Iris' tank top, shirt, sweater, and fleece lined jacket could not keep the cold from seeping in towards her skin and giving her a harsh chill. She had never been too fond of the bitter weather, however the smell of ozone in the park after the strong rains earlier were relaxing enough to make it all worthwhile.

?So Josh, why exactly are you here?? Iris asked with an unintended bitterness in her voice.

?Like I told you before, I'm just here to get tutored.? Josh responded.

?Your tutoring is at the other end of the park in half an hour though.? Iris stated. ?So why are you here??

Josh awkwardly shrugged and said he had just arrived earlier than normal, but that was only half of the truth.

Josh had had a crush on Iris since 3rd grade and now as a sophomore was still desperately trying to catch her without having to formally ask her on a date. And much other than the stereotypical football player, Josh had absolutely no game.

?I know you arrived early. I'm asking you why I saw you biking up Rodriguez hill at triple the speed you bike anywhere else on flat land.? Iris questioned again.

?Well I just wouldn't want to be late.? Josh replied with a sideways smirk on his face.

?And I don't want you to be late, but why chase me down. If you hadn't noticed, I was trying to take a peaceful walk through the meadow ALONE!? Iris replied.

But she didn't truly mean that. She didn't mind walking with Josh and just hanging out, but as of the nerdy girl code, she was bound to science and thinking about nothing more than science, including boys, especially football players. But maybe she felt something for Josh. His tall and muscular figure intrigued her almost as much as his funny and quirky attitude. But day after day when she met up with Josh to tutor him she reminded herself that boys were merely a distraction from education and eventually a career.

?Well I'm sorry to ruin your lonely walk. Just think of it as, umm, social studies.? Josh joked.

Iris smiled a little but turned her head to hide it. ?That's not even close to the true definition and learning of social studies.?

Josh grinned. Her fiery personality always grabbed at him and he was always at awe in her extensive knowledge of the most random things.

?How about you just log it as an extra 30 minutes of community service then.? Josh tried once more.

Iris blushed and it was a little harder to hide that time. ?Let's get back to the parking lot and picnic area so I can grab a blanket and we can begin.?

They turned around because the trail only led to a dead end and walked in silence for a minute.

?Sure is cold out here.? Josh said, standing ever so slightly closer to Iris.

?That's what you get for living in Canada in the winter.? Iris responded in a fast and snappy manner.

?True. I've never been one for the intense cold of our winters.?

?It's not that bad. Just look up at the sky and smell the air.?

Iris turned her head up as an example and after only two more steps had led herself straight into the duck pond.

Josh dove in after her and scooped her up.

The moment was tense and not only could Iris feel his ripped chest but also his  warm breath on her cheek and his strong and steady heart beat against her body.

Iris shrugged it off fast.

?What are you doing. This pond is like two feet deep. I'm pretty sure I can walk out on my own.?

Josh blushed with embarrassment as he set her down gently on the bank.

?I, uhh, I was just trying to help.?

?I can handle myself, thank you very much.? Iris said trying to force her rapidly growing feelings for Josh out of her head.

?I was just??

Iris climbed out of the pond and peeled off her soaked jacket. Josh climbed out after her and he started to blush even more as he looked at her wet shirt.

Iris gazed down but she already knew what she would see. Why hadn't she worn a bra today? She crossed her arms over her chest clutching her soaked coat against her and began walking.

Josh jogged up beside her.

?You look really cold. My jacket is dry if you want to borrow it.? Josh said, giving her ample opportunity to better hide her outlined breasts.

?I'm fine. Really.? Iris responded not wanting to make it awkward.

They walked in silence for half a mile before they passed a man smoking weed who looked Iris up and down and whistled.

Josh stepped in front of Iris and took off his coat, wrapping it around her shivering body.

Iris did not refuse but rather snuggled into it and gave Josh a warm smile. She reached down and grabbed Josh's hand to show the weed addict she was taken.

They walked at a faster pace until finally they were away from the weird man. Iris did not let go of Josh's hand. Josh did not let go of hers. And neither of them planned to any time soon.

Finally they arrived back at the car parking lot.

?I was just holding your hand because of that weird guy you know.? Iris said as she let go of his hand and reached to unzip the coat she was borrowing from him.

Instead of agreeing though Josh simply said, ?No you weren't.?

And at that, Josh pulled her in for a kiss. Iris didn't stop him. She again felt a flutter in her stomach. She felt his chest again and she didn't want it to stop. She grabbed his hair and he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her in tight. After the insanely intense moment happened, Iris reached down and grabbed his hand again. Josh used his thumb to stroke the top of her hand.

?So I guess I'll see you tomorrow.? Josh said with his cute sideways smirk.

HEY HEY HEYYY!!! This isn't really related to the prompt but it kinda is so yeah. Also, it isn't really funny It is funny...ish? Anyways, hope you like my story!!! (Please don't judge the title btw ^^)

9th November 2020-

Sophia asked me to hang out today but me being myself, I couldn't say anything. I just said ?no', turned around and walked away. After I quite rudely declined her invitation, Sophia, with a confused look on her face, turned around and walked away with her friends I bet they think I am a weirdo, which I am; a weirdo who can't even socialise with people. It was always like that, someone nice wants to be my friend and then I decline. Sometimes, I don't even answer; I just walk away. Since I can't socialise with people, I spent my time making up conversations in my head. I usually write them down in my diary too. Lemme find one of them-

?Hey Charli! Do you wanna hang out today?? I asked.

?Sure! Can Avery and Charlotte come too?? she answered.

?Of course! Let's meet up at the mall at 4 after school,? I replied, smiling.

?Alrighty! I'll let Avery and Charlotte know.? Charli beamed, clapping her hands together.

That was one from...last year when I made my New Year resolution to socialise with people more. Words can't describe how horribly that went.

Anyways, I don't want to go to school tomorrow because rumours will spread about today's incident. I might tell Mum that I feel sick but a weirdo like me can't even talk to her own parents properly. Yes, I am that weird. URGH! It is time to start begging my mum.

Well that didn't work out. I asked no..begged my mum to let me stay at home tomorrow but she said I needed to learn social skills. That was when I completely lost it. I wanted to scream at her

?SOCIAL SKILLS? I AM ALREADY HORRIBLE AT IT, IF I TRY, I WILL JUST MAKE A FOOL OF MYSELF! I JUST EMBARRASSED MYSELF IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE SCHOOL TODAY AND I STILL HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL TOMORROW? ARE YOU CRAZY?? Sadly, I didn't have the courage to say that so I just ran back to my room without a word.

*Sigh*

Today was a really long day.

10th November 2020-

Some people stared at me today for some reason. I guess it was about yesterday's incident when I didn't want to hang out with Sophia. Also, guess what? Sophia's ?friends' just bullied me in the bathroom this morning. I never had the strength to fight back to bullies so that's why I was usually the main target for bullying. Even if you did report it to the teachers, they do nothing about it. Teachers say they will fix it but they don't...I wonder why. I bet they don't care about us at all. I think they just want their money and not deal with teenage school drama.

I can't even say how much I hate school. All the bullies are like

?SOPHIA WAS NICE TO YOU YESTERDAY! WHY WERE YOU SO RUDE?! SOPHIA THIS SOPHIA THAT.?

Did I mention that Sophia was the most popular girl in our school? She even has a fan club like...WHAAA??? Honestly, those people are even crazier than me. They not only have shirts that have her face printed on it, but they even sell it at school. I took one of the posters since they are plastered everywhere. I'll stick it in.

to mention most of the people in her fan club are guys. That includes the fan club ?founder' and it's ?co-founder'.

11th November 2020-

I still had to go to school today. Now, everyone is staring and whispering, very loudly. They are all like

?OMGGG! It is her, the girl who talked rudely to Sophia. How dare she! Sophia is so nice. What is wrong with her.? Well, that was the popular girls.

The guys are like ?How dare she insult Sophia. I bet that lowlife girl is just jealous because Sophia is so pretty.?

Pretty much everyone was ?Sophis this Sophia that.? Her name just made me feel sick since it was repeated so many times. I usually see Sophia strutting down the hallway but then she sees me and pretends to have a breakdown. Even worse, SOPHIA IS IN MY CLASS!! URGHH!! Can life get any worse?

Well, the answer is yes because people were reporting me for bullying and oh...my...gawddddddd. The principal is so mean! I have reported at least half of my class for bullying me and now I am the evil one? Nah, I am actually the victim like REEEEEE!!!

***That is me raging***

***Sigh***

I didn't say anything cause I didn't want to cause any trouble so I just nodded my head and left the principal's office. I guess I will be the gossip for a good few weeks.

Hey, it is like 8 at night now and I was thinking about what would have happened if I could stand up for myself. I could've screamed at the principal and bullies but again, that would stir trouble. I honestly don't know what to do. My parents will think I am making things up so I don't have to go to school and I have no friends at school. Even though I am alone in my room, I feel like I have so many friends yet when I am in a class full of students, I feel so lonely. Urgh. I really need to stop rambling on. I guess this is life.

I should try to solve things tomorrow..if I get the chance to even talk to Sophia at least. Alrighty, I'm going to go read my book before I hit the hay. Nothing is better than some good character development.

P.S. Here are some conversation I WISH I had-

?Hey Sophia! Sorry about a few days ago. I wasn't thinking straight and I had quite a lot of things on my mind.? I mumbled.

?Oh! That is alright! Come join us for lunch!? Sophia replied, smiling as she tucked her golden hair behind her ear.

?Really? Thanks!? I replied, clapping my hands with joy.

?Of course! No problem!? Sophia answered, turning away.

P.P.S. That will never happen. Never in a million years.
